Openings - Trustee Positions
About the City of Fairfax Theatre Company
For the past eight years, the City of Fairfax Theatre Company has provided theatre programming that enriches, educates and connects our community by producing shows and educational opportunities for all ages. Our recent seasons have received rave reviews for our productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Doubt, Hairspray, The Music Man, The Importance of Being Earnest, and other exciting programming!
Since reorganizing in 2013, we have seen growth in the number of shows produced, revenue from ticket sales and donations, and sold-out educational opportunities like our summer drama camps.
Currently, CFTC is looking for passionate individuals who are committed to the performing arts in Northern Virginia to join our Board of Trustees in 2019, as we take on new and creative challenges to expand and improve our work!
About the Trustees
The volunteer Trustees support the work of the City of Fairfax Theatre Company and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance for the Theatre Company. While many day-to-day operations are led by CFTC’s Artistic Director, Managing Director and Administrative Assistant, the Board-Artistic Director relationship is a partnership, and the involvement and support of the Trustees is critical, with weekly obligations around communications and/or face-to-face meetings. This is an extraordinary opportunity for individuals who are passionate about performing arts in the Northern Virginia area and seek a leading role in crafting an expanding reach for local arts.
Our existing Board is seeking to add the following specific roles:

Efforts also will include recognizing success, opportunity for growth, and implementation strategies that ensure CFTC maintains a diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture where all feel valued and respected.
