About the Board of Directors

The volunteer Directors support the work of the City of Fairfax Theatre Company and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance for the Theatre Company.

While many day-to-day operations are led by CFTC’s Artistic Director, Producing Director and Administrative Assistant, the Board-Artistic Director relationship is a partnership, and the involvement and support of the Trustees is critical, with weekly obligations around communications and/or face-to-face meetings.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for individuals who are passionate about performing arts in the Northern Virginia area and seek a leading role in crafting an expanding reach for local arts.

For the past twelve years, the City of Fairfax Theatre Company has provided theatre programming that enriches, educates and connects our community by producing shows and educational opportunities for all ages. Our recent seasons have received rave reviews for our productions, including 12 WATCH nominations in our first year for our 2019 productions of Beauty and the Beast and The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence, including wins for Outstanding Scenic Design and the Lena Hall Award for Outstanding Ensemble.

Since reorganizing in 2013, we have seen growth in the number of shows produced, revenue from ticket sales and donations, and sold-out educational opportunities like our summer drama camps.

Currently, CFTC is looking for passionate individuals who are committed to the performing arts in Northern Virginia to join our Board of Directors in 2022, as we take on new and creative challenges to expand and improve our work!
