Announcing a masterclass for high school students with Broadway’s Jacob Dickey! The masterclass will be held on Monday, December 8 from 7-9pm at the CFTC blackbox, limited to 45 attendees.
You may have seen Jacob in Aladdin in the titular role either on Broadway or on tour, in Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends with Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga, or in the Broadway cast of the Tony-winning revival of Company with Patti Lupone. He is in town playing the lead role of Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls at Shakespeare Theatre Company in DC. Jacob grew up in Virginia and went to James Madison University to study theatre. We are excited to welcome him to share his journey. He will be providing comments on video submissions by high school students and a handful of finalists will be selected to work with him during the masterclass, followed by a Q&A session.
In addition to the masterclass, CFTC will go as a group to see Guys and Dolls with discounted tickets on Wednesday, December 17 at 7:30pm, and meet up with Jacob after the show at the stage door for a group photo!

About Our Guest
Jacob Dickey was most recently seen on Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends opposite Broadway Legends Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga. Prior to Old Friends, he was part of the 2022 Tony-winning revival of Company and later led the production on its first national tour as Andy, the flight attendant. In 2017, he made his Broadway debut in Aladdin to then take over the titular role on tour, stepping in for Adam Jacobs. Some of his favorite credits include the US premiere of The Prince of Egypt as Moses (Tuacahn Center for the Arts), Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812 as Dolokhov (Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera), and Emojiland the Musical as Sunny (Off-Broadway at The Duke on 42nd St). You can hear him on the original cast recording of Emojiland.
Jacob's concert work recently made the international leap as he performed alongside fellow Broadway and West End stars in Theatre Orb's New Years Gala Concert in Tokyo, Japan. Jacob has been seen as a soloist with symphony orchestras, including performing in Jack Everly's Leading Men of Broadway with both the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra as well as performing with the Indianapolis Symphony. Jacob’s upcoming symphonic engagements include The Cleveland Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Long Bay Symphony, and Acadiana Symphony. He is also a frequent performer at 54 Below and Green Room 42 in NYC and has had the great honor of premiering some of Stephen Schwartz's new works at The Slipper Room accompanied by Mr. Schwartz himself.
Jacob is a proud graduate of James Madison University in his home state, Virginia. When he is not performing, he's coaching young artists in theatre performance. For more information (and lots of dog pics), follow him on Instagram @js_dickey.
