2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence during a critical year in the American Revolution—1776. Throughout the United States this year, Americans have been commemorating this milestone birthday. Join the City of Fairfax Theatre Company for a unique musical reflection on America 250 through the lens of women’s history: “Remember the Ladies: An America 250 Concert.”
Through story and song, an all-female cast will present a selection of pieces that consider the many aspects of what it means to be an American. Women’s stories will take center stage as this ensemble compels contemporary Americans to heed the words written by Abigail Adams 250 years ago when she asked her husband John to “remember the ladies” as the male leaders of the patriot cause debated independence.
